Patrol Competition “Dragon Recon 2013 “ XV Edition
Within the concept
of training activities, the U.N.U.C.I. . (National Association of
Retired Officers of Italy), district of
Campania, with the aid of the 2° Commando F.O.D. (2° Comando Forze di Difesa),
and the support of the S.M of the FF.AA (Stato Maggiore delle Forze Armate), is
organizing the XIV° edition of the International Competition for Military
Patrols “Dragon Recon 2013”.
The exercise, as
like the previous ones, has the objective to train, to perfect, and to define
the procedures in the activities of tactical transport, sanitary evacuation and
recognition. An exercise acclimatized in
a scenario purposely designed and approximating as much as possible realistic
conditions, typical of those operations outside of the national borders. and
suitable to measure the degree of physical and technical training of active
duty and reserve units.
Testing Activities:
The tests that the teams will have to exceed are
typical of the maneuvers of a Recon Patrol. They may include:

Night-time infiltration
from the sea by rubber dinghy, use of ARV boat.
·
Overcoming of natural
and artificial obstacles. Mine field transition.
·
Attack and destruction
of enemy objectives.
·
Shooting, acquisition of
enemy documents, descending of a double rope.
·
Arms, equipment and
weapons recognition and use.
·
Topography, recovery of
injured, capture, NATO symbology.
·
Insect infestation and
first aid, NBC, shooting c/c, interrogation.
·
Operation with the
vehicle Lince (VTLM), explosives recognition.
Participation:
The teams shall consist of 4 members each, with
one member preferably an Official, belonging to:

Units on active duty of
the Italian Armed Forces, or friendly nations,
·
Members of the Police Force,
·
U.N.U.C.I. (effective and friendly
associates)
·
Reserve organizations
recognized by the NATO nations
·
Italian military associations,
recognized by the Ministry of Defense
The
maximum registration allowed is 2 (two) teams for every Association or Unit at
the regiment level.
Registration Deadline:
Within 28 September 2013 each procedure of
registration must have been completed and to have reached the Italian
Army Military Command.
The
registration fee of €200.00 per Team is payable by postal bank account deposit n°
367805 and must be paid together with the submission of the registration
form, forwarded to the below address:

For accompanying reserve or
observer personnel, (max. 2 pp per team), the fee is €35.00 each with the same accommodations. Such fees will have to be
paid directly at the assigned place.
Language:
The written orders, testing
forms, and explanation of each test will be translated and provided in English.
Meteorological Conditions:
The competition is intended to
be carried out with any meteorological condition, except those objectives
considered for reasons of risk. The final decision to abolish some tests, with the
already acquired scores, is at the discretion of the Direction of the Competition.
Dispute:
The dispute will have to be registered
in writing, with the Direction of the Competition with a deposit of € 50.00. The deposit will be
refunded if the evidence of the dispute
is acceptable. The dispute will be
examined by the Judges at the end of the Competition. The dispute will not be able,
in some cases, to refer to indications given or received from the Judges of
Competition.
Organization of the tests:
The Organizing Committee
reserves the right to modify, if necessary, the distance, the order and the
type of the tests. The members of the squad, independent of rank, are
responsible to follow the indications of the Judges of tests.
Medical responsibilities:
Every member will compete being
fully aware of their own physical state and level of training as stated in
their application recorded at their time of arrival in Capone barracks.
Organizational Responsibilities:
The Directors of Competition
and the Organizing Committee decline any responsibility for damages to persons
and/or property involved during the events of the competition.
Logistical Arrangements:
Private vehicles may enter the barracks area for
loading/unloading only. An approved parking area is in front of the entrance to
the “Capone” barracks.
Note: Access to the "Capone" barracks
area is permitted for those vehicles properly registered on the Competition application
form.
Standards of Behavior:
The members of the squads and their representatives/observers,
shall conform in a manner appropriate to the surroundings, maintaining respect for their dress code and
personal behavior in competition and barracks.

DRAGON RECON 2013 – USEFUL INFORMATION
PERSANO (SALERNO) 11-13 OCTOBER 2013
Registration fee: 200.00
euros for each patrol (for accompanist 35.00 euros)
Uniforms: combat uniform and ceremony uniform. Flags,
labarum and pennant are welcome.
Equipment: typical exploration patrol equipment
in a hostile territory.

Will be
provided to each team weapons in our care.
Food & quarters: food in the military mess, for
lodging you’ll have only a bed and a mattress; you need to have your own sheet or
sleeping-bag.
Place: CUCCI Barracks, Italian military compound, Persano (Salerno) Italy.
Exit Campagna
on the A-3 motorway.
On October 11th
a shuttle-bus will be available from Naples
airport and train station if you need transportation.

October 10th from 02.00 p.m. to October 12th at 12.00
o’clock.
